Mirae Asset Securities has officially acquired Korbit, Korea’s first cryptocurrency exchange, and renamed it Digital X. This move demonstrates Mirae Asset’s confidence in the future of digital investing and positions Digital X as one of the key business pillars of its medium- to long-term “Mirae Asset 3.0” strategy.

Through Digital X, Mirae Asset aims to combine Korbit’s experience as a pioneer in Korea’s virtual asset market with Mirae Asset’s global financial expertise, built over more than 30 years. The company plans to develop new business lines—including real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, security token offerings (STOs), and stablecoins—while building an integrated investment ecosystem that connects conventional and digital assets. Going forward, Digital X also aims to become an asset management–based investment platform that goes beyond the traditional role of a digital asset exchange, with a stronger emphasis on investor education.

The transformation further reinforces Mirae Asset’s commitment to sound governance and client trust. In line with Korea’s increasingly robust virtual asset regulations, the company will strengthen its compliance infrastructure, including anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and fraud detection systems.

Kim Mi-seop and Heo Seon-ho, Co-CEOs and Vice Chairmen of Mirae Asset Securities, emphasized that the future of the company’s clients is also the future of the company, and that growing clients’ wealth will remain the foremost priority in every decision made at Digital X.

Mirae Asset Securities is the parent company of Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia and operates across 11 global markets, including Hong Kong, the United States, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
